The rifle team fell to the United States Naval Academy, 4636-4429, on Saturday in Annapolis, MD. The Bloodhounds fired a 2296 in air rifle and 2133 in smallbore. John Jay is 9-1 in air rifle and 9-3 in smallbore on the season.
The Bloodhounds had four finishers in the 570's in air rifle. Junior
Suzana Adovic led the team with a 577, followed by senior
Connie Villon (574), junior
Angelica DeAraujo (573), junior
Ronald Kopec (572), and freshman
Lily Graham (567),
In the smallbore discipline, Kopec led the way with a team-best 543. Right behind Kopec was Graham firing a 542. Rounding out the top five were DeAraujo (525), senior
Matthew Pascual (523), and Adovic (516).
The Bloodhounds will look for its 12th MAC championship when the team travels to Lexington, VA on Saturday, March 5, for the MAC Championship.
