The baseball team fell to United States Merchant Marine Academy, 16-14 in eight innings, on Tuesday afternoon in Kings Point, NY. The Bloodhounds drop to 1-12 overall. The Mariners improve to 4-9 on the season.

With the Bloodhounds trailing, 3-0 after the first inning, John Jay took the lead after scoring four runs in the second. USMMA tied the game, 4-4, in the bottom of the third. The hosts scored three in the fifth and five in the sixth to lead 16-9 after six full innings. John Jay made a late comeback by scoring three in the seventh and two in the eighth before the game was called due to darkness.
The Bloodhounds travel to Maritime College on Thursday, March 24, for a single game starting at 7:00 pm.
