Looking for its 12th championship, the rifle team finished in second place in air rifle discipline in the MAC championship in Lexington, VA on the campus of the Virginia Military Institute.
The Bloodhounds finished with a 2273, while the United States Coast Guard won the title with a 2286. The Massachusetts Institute of Technology finished third with a 2261.Â
Like all season long, freshman
Lily Graham led John Jay with a score of 574. In her last collegiate match of her career, senior
Connie Villon finished in second with a 569. Juniors
Ronald Kopec and
Angelica DeAraujo tied for third with a 565 and rounding out the top five was junior
Suzana Adovic (561).Â
The match turned out to be the final one of
Connie Villon and senior
Matthew Pascual's collegiate career. The Athletics Department will honor both seniors on Thursday, March 24, at 5:45 pm before the final home volleyball match of the season.Â
