The men's volleyball team swept a CUNYAC multi-match on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Hunter College. John Jay defeated Lehman College, 3-2 (22-25, 25-22, 18-25, 25-16, 15-8) and Medgar Evers College, 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-11). The Bloodhounds are now 10-5 overall and 8-2 in the CUNY Athletic Conference.
In the match against the Lightning of Lehman, senior
Jack Palleschi recorded a double-double with a game-high 14 kills, 10 digs, and a game-high six blocks. Junior
Juan DeJesus registered 15 kills, two aces, two blocks, and four digs. Senior
Nicholas Anderson picked up 36 assists, two kills, two blocks, and four digs. Junior
Carmelo Cintron Jr. finished with a game-high six service aces and junior
Francisco Miranda had five kills and 10 digs. Sophomore
Brandon Dolores added six digs.
In the match against the Cougars of Medgar Evers,
Palleschi finished with a game-high 21 kills and seven digs. DeJuses picked up 12 kills, two service aces, and three digs. Anderson recorded 33 assists, four kills, and three digs. Miranda had a game-high nine digs and Cintron and freshman Michael Chabla registered two aces each. On the day, John Jay totaled 84 kills, 78 assists, 18 service aces, 11 blocks, and 65 digs.
The Bloodhounds host SUNY Purchase on Monday, March 7, at 7:00 pm at the Doghouse.
