The softball teams split with Brooklyn College in a non-conference doubleheader on Monday evening in Brooklyn, NY. The Bloodhounds took game one, 15-4, before losing game two, 6-5. John Jay is now 5-8 on the season. The Bulldogs are now 3-11 overall.
In game one, the Bloodhounds took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first but Brooklyn responded with three in the bottom half. John Jay tied the game, 3-3 in the top of the fourth. The Bloodhounds scored 11 runs in the final three innings to take the first game, 15-4.
Freshman
Karen Rosario went 3-for-5 with a game-high five RBI's and two runs scored. Senior
Amber Villegas went 4-for-5 with a game-high three runs. Junior
Alinda Nicaj was 3-for-5 with a double, one RBI, and two runs scored. Freshman
Inelza Salcedo finished with four RBI's. Junior

Star Manzueta recorded two hits each.
Lisa Pellegrino picked up her fourth win of the season after pitching a complete game. The sophomore threw seven innings, allowed four hits, four runs (two earned), one walk, and struck out seven.
In game two, Brooklyn took a 1-0 lead after the first full inning. In the top of the fourth, John Jay scored four runs to take a 4-1 advantage. The Bulldogs regained the lead, 6-4, after scoring five. John Jay was able to score one in the last inning but eventually fell by a final score of 6-5.
Nicaj went 3-for-4 with one RBI. Junior
Jennifer Pace, Lorenzo, and Manzueta registered RBI's. Nicaj threw six innings while allowing four hits, six runs (five earned), one walk, and struck out six.
The Bloodhounds host Hunter College on Thursday, April 14, at 4:00 pm at Randall's Island Field 16.
