The softball team lost to Hunter College, 14-3 and 16-3, on Thursday afternoon at Randall's Island. The Bloodhounds fall to 5-10 on the season and 4-4 in the conference. The Hawks improve to 8-10 overall and 6-0 in CUNYAC.
In game one, Hunter scored 10 runs in the first three innings. John Jay got on the board in the final inning when junior
Jennifer Pace drove in two runs with a single. Sophomore
Michelle Atiq followed with an RBI single to score Pace.
Pace finished 2-for-3 with two RBI's, one runs scored, and one stolen base. Atiq, sophomore

Amber Villegas, and junior
Lisbet Lorenzo recorded hits for the Bloodhounds.
In game two, John Jay opened the scoring in the bottom of the first. With one out and the Bloodhounds leading by one, Pellegrino knocked an RBI single to put John Jay up by two. The Hawks cut the deficit in half in the second inning.
In their next frame, Hunter scored three runs but the Bloodhounds responded in the bottom half of the inning to plate one run. The Hawks broke open the game in the fourth inning after scoring 11 runs.
Junior
Alinda Nicaj was a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs scored and a stolen base. Pellegrino finished 2-for-3 with an RBI.
The Bloodhounds travel to College of Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday, April 16, for a non-conference doubleheader at 2:00 pm.
