The baseball team lost to New York University (NYU), 12-1, on Tuesday afternoon at MCU Park in Coney Island, NY. The Bloodhounds fall to 8-18 on the year. The Violets improve to 11-13 overall.
NYU jumped out to an early 5-0 lead after the first inning. Heading into the top of the fourth and trailing 6-0, sophomore
Zach Hyde led off with a triple to right field and scored on a wild pitch.
The Violets added three runs in the fifth and sixth innings to win by a final score of 12-1. Hyde had John Jay's lone hit in the contest. Freshman
Marco Alonso threw two scoreless innings in relief.
The Bloodhounds travel to Penn State Abington on Wednesday, April 13, for a non-conference game at 4:00 pm.
