The Bloodhounds lost two non-conference games, 18-5 and 9-2, on Wednesday afternoon in Old Westbury, NY. The Bloodhounds drop to 11-25 overall. The Panthers improve to 24-13.
In game one, Old Westbury opened the scoring in the first inning with three runs. John Jay responded in the second when junior
Brian Cabral scored on a wild pitch and junior
Charlee Rodriguez picked up an RBI double to center field to cut the deficit to 3-2. The Panthers scored four in the bottom half to lead 7-2.
In the fourth, freshman
Brandon Thomas recorded an RBI sacrifice fly and in the next inning, seniors
Noel Sanchez and
Esteban Soler registered RBI singles. At the end of five innings, Old Westbury held a 16-5 advantage and would tack on another two runs for a final score of 18-5.
Junior
Dylan Laudano went 2-for-2 with a double and run scored and picked up his 40th hit and 30th RBI of the season.
Charlee Rodriguez and Soler had two hits and an RBI each.
In game two, the Panthers scored five runs in the second to take an early 5-0 lead. In the top of the sixth and trailing by six, junior
R.J. Davila picked up an RBI double down the left field line and junior
Jason Gonzalez recorded an RBI.
Davila registered John Jay's two hits in the contest.
