The women's soccer team lost in the final 10 minutes to Brooklyn College, 3-2, on Wednesday evening in Brooklyn, NY. The Bloodhounds drop to 2-3 on the season and 0-1 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Bulldogs improve to 2-3 overall and 1-0 in the conference.
Ten seconds into the game, freshman
Kali Moss scored her second goal of the season to give John Jay an early 1-0 lead. Twenty-three minutes later, Brooklyn scored two goals to take a 2-1 advantage. However, the Bloodhounds bounced back after sophomore
May Dempsey blasted a free kick into the back of the net to tie it at two apiece.
With 81:11 on the clock, the Bulldogs scored the game-winner and would win by a final score of 3-2.
Junior
Kelli Doherty made 10 saves. Dempsey and Moss finished with a goal and two shots on goal each. Brooklyn outshot John Jay, 23-9.
The Bloodhounds will look for its first conference win on Saturday, September 17, when they travel to Aviator Field to take on Medgar Evers College at 6:30 pm.
