The men's soccer team suffered a tough defeat to Hunter College, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon at Randall's Island. The Bloodhounds drop to 1-6 on the year and 0-1 in the conference. The Hawks improve to 3-3-1 and 1-0 in CUNYAC.
The first forty-five minutes were scoreless as both goalkeepers made key saves to keep it knotted at 0-0. Junior
Alexandros Taliotis recorded two saves in the half.
Three minutes into the second half, Hunter found the back of the net to lead 1-0. John Jay intensified the pressure late in the game but could not find a way to send it to overtime.
Taliotis finished with seven saves in the contest. Freshman
Daniel Gurov registered John Jay's lone shot on goal.
The Bloodhounds travel to Rutgers-Newark on Monday, September 19, for a non-conference match at 8:00 pm.
