The men's soccer team lost to Rutgers-Newark, 3-0, on Monday night in Newark, NJ. The Bloodhounds fall to 1-7 on the season. The Scarlet Raiders improve to 7-2 overall. 

The hosts scored three goals in the first half and were shutout in the second. Junior Jesus Merino, sophomore Oscar Barrientos, and freshman Michael Mbamelu recorded shots for John Jay. Junior Alexandros Taliotis registered seven saves. 

The Bloodhounds host Medgar Evers College on Wednesday, September 21, at 4:00 pm at Randall's Island Field 70.
