Alexis Castillo and buried it into the bottom left corner to give the Bloodhounds their first season opener win since 2011.
In the first half, Castillo made a pass to freshman
Sydney Solimani who blasted a shot past the goalkeeper to record her first collegiate goal. John Jay held a 1-0 lead after forty-five minutes. In the 72nd minute, the Gryphons responded on an indirect kick to tie the score at one apiece.Â

Kelli Doherty picked up the win after making six saves. John Jay outshot Sarah Lawrence, 15-8.
