The women's basketball team lost to Lehman College, 87-66, on Saturday afternoon in the Bronx. The Bloodhounds drop to 2-19 overall and 1-11 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Lightning improve to 12-8 and 10-2 in conference play.
Uju Nwaigwe recorded her first collegiate double-double with a season-high and game-high 27 points, a team-high 10 rebounds, and one block. The freshman went 9-for-14 from the floor and 9-for-10 from the charity stripe. Senior
Cassandra Taylor registered 22 points, nine boards, and a team-high three steals. Junior
Dana Nicholson finished with six points, seven rebounds, and a game-high seven assists. Senior
Claire Prince had eight rebounds and freshman
Kaitlin Koehler added eight rebounds and four assists.
John Jay finished 27-for-68 (39.7%) from the field, 3-for-22 (13.6%) from behind the arc, and 9-for-14 (64.3%) from the free throw line.
