The women's soccer team shutout Lehman College, 1-0, on Wednesday afternoon at Randall's Island. The Bloodhounds improve to 7-7-1 overall and remain undefeated in CUNYAC at 4-0-1. The Lightning drop to 7-7-1 and 3-2 in conference play. <br />

The first forty minutes went back-and-forth with both teams seeing limited scoring changes. In the 42nd minute, junior
May Dempsey made a long cross to sophomore Camila Vasquez who netted her ninth goal of the season and give the Bloodhounds a 1-0 lead heading into halftime. Senior
Zola Campbell was also credited with an assist. At the half, each team had three shots. <br />

The Lightning intensified the pressure in the second period but John Jay's defense held strong. The Bloodhounds continued clearing the ball to give senior
Kelli Doherty her fifth shutout of the year. The Hopewell Junction, NY native finished with nine saves. Lehman outshot John Jay by a margin of 10-1 in the second half. <br />

The Bloodhounds host the College of Staten Island on Senior Day on Saturday, October 21, at 1:00 pm at Randall's Island Field 10. John Jay and the Dolphins will play for the regular season championship as both teams are 4-0-1 in conference play. Before the contest, the Athletics Department will honor seniors
