The women's volleyball team won two non-conference matches on Saturday afternoon in Langhorne, PA. The Bloodhounds shutout Medgar Evers, 3-0 (25-10, 25-12, 25-6), and Cairn University, 3-0 (25-20, 25-14, 25-10). John Jay extends its win streak to five and improves to 13-10.
In the match against the Cougars of Medgar Evers, freshman
Brianna Geraldo recorded five kills, a game-high 16 digs, and three aces. Junior
Brittany Steele finished with six kills and five digs and sophomore
Allison Williams had six kills. Sophomore
Kimberly Rodriguez had a team-high 12 assists and match-high four service aces. Senior
Anna Gevorgyan added three aces.
In the game versus Cairn, Steele registered her 10th double-double of the year with a game-high 12 kills and 14 digs. Geraldo contributed five kills and a match-high 18 digs. Freshman
Nicole Aguasvivas tallied 13 digs and junior
Mballou Berete had eight kills. Rodriguez dished out a game-high 29 assists and junior
Nyla Lloyd-Clarke picked up five kills.
John Jay totaled 63 kills, 59 assists, 22 service aces, and 94 digs.
The Bloodhounds travel to York College in their final CUNYAC regular season match of the season on Thursday, October 26, at 7:00 pm.
