The rifle team split a conference meet with the United States Coast Guard Academy on Saturday afternoon. The Bloodhounds won in air rifle, 2280-2276, but fell in smallbore, 2238-2129. The Bloodhounds improve to 3-0 in air rifle and remain 3-0 in smallbore.
In air rifle, sophomore
Susana Sanchez recorded a match-high and career-high 585. Junior
Lily Graham finished right behind with a score of 584. Sophomore
Eliza Kotowska placed third with a 556 and junior
Ida Sato fourth with a score of 555.
In smallbore, Graham led John Jay scoring a 553. Freshman
Jana Ferdoush finished in second with a score of 532. Rounding out the top four were Kotowska and Sato with scores of 524 and 520, respectively.
The Bloodhounds host Maritime College on Saturday, December 2, for the Big Apple Classic in the Marksmanship Training Facility on the campus of John Jay College.
