The rifle team competed at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in an NCAA match on Saturday afternoon in Cambridge, MA. The Bloodhounds fired a 2268 in air rifle and 2090 in smallbore. John Jay's lone win came in air rifle when the Bloodhounds defeated MIT. John Jay also faced the University of Akron.
In smallbore, sophomore
Susana Sanchez led John Jay with a 533. Freshman
Jana Ferdoush placed right behind firing a 531. Junior Isa Sato (515) and freshman
Michael Hyde (511) finished in third and fourth place, respectively.
In air rifle, Sato was the Bloodhounds' top finisher with a score of 577. Finishing tied for second with a 565 were Ferdoush and sophomore
Eliza Kotowska. Rounding out the top four was Sanchez with a 561.
The Bloodhounds host Maritime College on Saturday, December 2, for the Big Apple Classic in the Marksmanship Training Facility on the campus of John Jay College.
