The rifle team defeated Maritime College, 2230-2161, in the Big Apple Classic on Saturday afternoon at the Marksmanship Training Facility on the campus of John Jay College. The Bloodhounds improve to a perfect 5-0 in air rifle. 

This was John Jay's 10th straight Big Apple Classic victory over the Privateers of Maritime. 

John Jay had three shooters finish in the 560's. Sophomore Susana Sanchez led the way with a match-high 569. Junior Ida Sato was right behind with a score of 567. Finishing in third place was sophomore Eliza Kotowska with a 565. Junior Marc Suda and freshman Michael Hyde registered scores of 529 and 525, respectively. 

The Bloodhounds will now head into winter break and resume play on Saturday, February 3, when they travel to the United States Coast Guard Academy.
