The men's volleyball team lost a CUNYAC tri-match on Saturday afternoon at the Doghouse. The Bloodhounds fell to Hunter College and Brooklyn College, 3-0. John Jay drops to 8-12 overall and 1-4 in conference play.
In the match versus the Hawks of Hunter, freshman
Edwin Hernandez led the way with his fourth double-double of the season with a game-high 11 kills and a game-high 12 digs. Freshman Krystian Surdel recorded six kills, eight digs, and a team-high two service aces. Freshman
Godwin Sequiera finished with 10 digs and freshman
Steven Alvarado added a game-high 21 assists. Freshman
Kellvin Ortiz had a game-high two solo blocks.
Against the Bulldogs of Brooklyn, senior
Francisco Miranda totaled a team-high nine kills and six digs. Alvarado dished out a game-high 28 assists and junior
Alexander Santana and Hernandez picked up seven kills each. Sequiera added a game-high 11 digs.
For the day, John Jay totaled 57 kills, 56 assists, four service aces, and 68 digs.
The Bloodhounds continue their homestand on Sunday, March 12, when they host Medaille College at 11:00 am at the Doghouse.
