The softball team swept York College, 12-0 and 14-5, on Tuesday morning at Padavan Preller Field in Bellerose, NY. The Bloodhounds improve to 5-16-1 overall and 5-3 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Cardinals drop to 0-16 and 0-12 in CUNYAC.

Lisa Pellegrino threw a gem. The junior pitched a complete-game two-hitter, while not allowing a walk, and striking out three. Junior
Star Manzueta knocked in three RBI's and Pellegrino helped her own cause with two RBI's, three runs scored, two walks, and a stolen base. Senior

Ashley Quinones each finished 1-for-2 with two runs scored and a walk.
In the second game, John Jay scored five in the first but York fought back to trail 5-3 after one full inning. The Bloodhounds responded with four runs in the second and broke open the game with five in the sixth.
Pellegrino recorded her second win of the day after throwing 5.1 innings, allowing six hits, two runs (one earned), no walks, and struck out five. At the plate, Pellegrino and freshman Mariela Guzman registered two hits, two runs, and one RBI each. Quinones finished 1-for-2 with three RBI's, three runs, and two walks. Manzueta picked up three RBI's and one run scored.
The Bloodhounds travel to the College of Old Westbury on Friday, April 21, for a non-conference doubleheader starting at 3:00 pm.
