The baseball team fell to Rutgers-Newark, 13-5, on Wednesday afternoon at Riverfront Stadium in Newark, NJ. The Bloodhounds drop to 11-19 on the season. The Scarlet Raiders improve to 22-10-1.

Dylan Laudano finished 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI's. Junior
Brian Garcia went 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored. Senior
Charlee Rodriguez picked up two hits and and junior
Zach Hyde scored twice.
John Jay opened the scoring in the third inning when Laudano recorded a two-out RBI single to center field. The hosts responded with six runs in the next four innings. In the top of the seventh with two outs, Garcia singled in freshman
Joe Desilvio. Laudano followed with an RBI double to left center.
The Bloodhounds begin a three-game series with Baruch College this weekend. John Jay will be the away team for a single-nine inning game on Saturday and the home team for Sunday's doubleheader. The entire series will be played at MCU Park in Coney Island, NY. Before the doubleheader on Sunday, the Athletics Department will celebrate senior day.
