The baseball team suffered a tough defeat to the College of Staten Island in the deciding game of the series, 4-3, on Monday evening in Staten Island. The Bloodhounds drop to 4-11 on the season and 2-4 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Dolphins improve to 8-6-1 overall and 2-1 in conference play.

Brian Garcia walked and senior
Dylan Laudano crushed a two-run homer to deep left field. Staten Island responded with two runs in the bottom half to tie the score. Sophomore
Brandon Thomas limited the damage as the third baseman started a 5-3 double play.
Starting pitcher
Jared Hershfield settled down after the first to throw three scoreless innings. In the top of the third with two outs, Garcia once again walked and scored on a RBI double by Laudano to put the Bloodhounds ahead 3-2.
Sophomore
Marco Alonso came in relief of Hershfield to throw three straight scoreless innings. However, in the bottom of the eighth, CSI tied the game on a bloop single with two outs. The Dolphins eventually scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth on a wild pitch to complete the comeback.
Laudano finished 2-for-5 with three RBI's and one run scored. Garcia was 2-for-3 with two runs and two walks. Sophomore
Jurrel Diaz recorded a stolen base.
The Bloodhounds will face New York University (NYU) on Tuesday, April 4, at 3:30 pm at MCU Park in Brooklyn, NY.
