Box Score The men's basketball team cruised to a 71-48 win at City College (CCNY) to win four of its last five games on Wednesday evening at the Nat Holman Gymnasium in New York, NY. The Bloodhounds improve to 8-10 on the year and 5-6 in CUNYAC. The Beavers drop to 1-18 and 1-10 in the conference.
Sophomore
Doug Levy recorded his fourth double-double of the season with a game-high 19 points and game-high 14 boards. Senior
Eric Sandoval Jr. came off the bench to add 14 points, a team-high five assists, and five rebounds. Junior
Essien Epps registered 11 points, seven rebounds, and a pair of steals. Freshman
Odis Gause finished with a season-high eight points off the bench. Senior

Kyle LaGuardia had four assists each.
The first four minutes consisted of four lead changes as CCNY led 8-4. A layup by Levy cut the deficit to two but the Beavers followed with a three-pointer. The Bloodhounds responded on a 9-0 run to hold a 15-11 advantage.
With 10:10 remaining in the first half, the score was tied at 15 apiece. Epps and Levy followed with two straight baskets. Up by five, Sandoval Jr. converted on a three-point play and John Jay went into the half with a 26-20 lead.
Levy and Epps opened the second period with layups as the Bloodhounds led by eight. CCNY responded with seven straight points to cut the deficit to 30-29. With 14:41 remaining, Richardson increased the lead back up to five on a jumper.
Two minutes later, City College cut the lead down to one. John Jay responded on a 15-0 run to break open the game. The Bloodhounds ended the contest scoring the final nine points.
John Jay went 26-for-55 (47.3%) from the floor, 3-for-14 (21.4%) from behind the arc, and 16-for-20 (80.0%) from the charity stripe.
The Bloodhounds travel to Lehman College for a conference game on Saturday, January 27, at 3:00 pm.
