Box Score The women's volleyball team shut out Mount Saint Mary College, 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-17), on senior day on Tuesday night at the Doghouse. With the win, the Bloodhounds improve to 12-9 overall. The Knights drop to 16-13.

Mballou Berete led all hitters in kills with a match-high 10 kills, four digs, a match-high three service aces, and three total blocks. Sophomore
Brianna Geraldo fell one kill shy of a double-double with nine kills and a team-high 10 digs. Junior
Kimberly Rodriguez tallied a game-high 28 assists and five digs. Senior

Niovis Monsanto finished with five kills apiece. Senior

Stephanie Marcano registered seven digs each.
The Bloodhounds scored five of the first six points of the match. With John Jay leading 6-4, the hosts went on a 5-1 run to increase the advantage to six. Trailing 15-10, Mount Saint Mary recorded seven straight but John Jay fired back on a 10-3 run to take the opening set.
Once again, the Bloodhounds took an early 7-2 lead in the second period. With the Knights down 10-4, they went on a 4-0 run to cut the deficit to two. Leading 19-14, John Jay rallied off four in a row to hold a 2-0 advantage.
The third set went back-and-forth as the score was tied 7-7. The Bloodhounds followed on a 6-1 run to hold a 13-8 lead. Mount Saint Mary went on a late run but the Bloodhounds would secure a 3-0 win.
John Jay totaled 33 kills, 32 assists, 46 digs, eight service aces, and eight total blocks.
The Bloodhounds travel to Annandale-On-Hudson, NY for a non-conference tri-match over the weekend. The Bloodhounds will face Maritime College on Friday, October 26, at 5:00 pm. On Saturday, October 27, John Jay will then face Penn State Abington at 12:00 pm and Bard College at 2:00 pm.
