Box Score 3 The women's volleyball team went 2-1 over the weekend in non-conference matches on Friday and Saturday in Annandale-On-Hudson, NY. John Jay ends the regular season with an overall record of 14-10.
On Friday evening, the Bloodhounds swept Maritime College, 3-0 (25-18, 25-11, 25-13). Sophomore
Brianna Geraldo led the way with a match-high 13 kills, seven digs, and three total blocks. Freshman
Niovis Monsanto recorded 10 kills and junior
Kimberly Rodriguez tallied a game-high 26 assists and a game-high six service aces. Freshman
Stephanie Marcano picked up a match-high 11 digs and freshman
Dayna Hunter added five kills.
On Saturday, John Jay opened up with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-12) victory over Penn State Abington. Rodriguez notched her first double-double of the season with a season-high and match-high 14 digs and 13 assists. Marcano picked up 11 digs and Geraldo had six kills. Junior
Mirialis Almanzar registered a career-high 10 total blocks including a career-high and match-high five solo blocks.
In the second contest of the day, the Bloodhounds fell to Bard College, 3-1 (25-18, 25-23, 17-25, 30-28). Geraldo fell two digs shy of a double-double with a match-high 17 kills and eight digs. Marcano finished with a career-high and game-high 27 digs. Rodriguez dished out 46 assists to go along with eight digs and two total blocks. Monsanto had 11 kills and Almanzar totaled nine kills and a game-high four total blocks. Senior
Nyla Lloyd-Clarke added seven kills.
