The men's basketball team cruised to a 91-63 win over Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) in the season opener on Friday night at the Doghouse.
Five Bloodhounds finished in double digits. Junior
Doug Levy finished with the best game of his John Jay career with a double-double. The forward led the way with a career-high and game-high 27 points, on 12-of-15 shooting, game-high 19 rebounds, and game-high three blocks. Senior
Essien Epps recorded 12 points, eight boards, a game-high six assists, and four steals.

Romello Ford had 11 points, four assists, and four steals and
Santiago Collado added 14 points. Sophomore
Kyle LaGuardia finished two rebounds shy of a double-double with 10 points and eight boards. Senior
Jerome Petty tallied nine points.
John Jay finished 34-for-69 (49.3%) from the field, 8-for-22 (36.4%) from behind-the-arc, and 15-for-30 (50%) from the free-throw line.
The Bloodhounds travel to St. Joseph's College Long Island on Saturday, November 17, for a non-conference game at 1:00 pm.
