Box Score 2 The men's volleyball team split a non-conference tri-meet on Saturday afternoon in Albany, NY. The Bloodhounds swept Purchase College, 3-0 (25-12, 25-14, 25-14), and then lost to the Sage Colleges, 3-1 (25-20, 20-25, 25-16, 25-22). John Jay is now 13-8 on the season.
In the win over Purchase, senior
Juan DeJesus led the way with a match-high 15 kills and four digs. Sophomore
Godwin Sequiera dished out a game-high 35 assists and freshman
Rintaro Kato finished with a match-high 12 digs. Senior
Alexander Santana and sophomore
Krystian Surdel registered six kills apiece.
In the match against Sage, DeJesus notched a team-high 12 kills and a game-high four aces. Santana finished two kills shy of a double-double with eight kills, 10 digs, and three total blocks. Sequiera picked up his fourth double-double of the season with 27 assists and a team-high 12 digs. Surdel added seven kills and Kato had nine digs.
John Jay totaled 68 kills, 63 assists, 88 digs, 20 total blocks, and 12 service aces.
The Bloodhounds host City College (CCNY) on Tuesday, April 3, at 7:00 pm at the Doghouse. Before the match, the Athletics Department will honor seniors
