Box Score The men's volleyball team defeated City College, 3-1 (25-18, 17-25, 25-17, 25-22), on Tuesday evening at the Doghouse. The Bloodhounds finish the regular season with an overall record of 14-8 and conference record of 6-2. The Beavers fall to 11-8 and 3-5 in CUNYAC.
Senior
Alexander Santana finished one dig shy of a double-double with 11 kills, nine digs, and three total blocks. Senior
Juan DeJesus recorded a team-high 14 kills and seven digs. Sophomore
Krystian Surdel notched 12 kills and freshman
Jose Peralta had a team-high 11 digs. Sophomore
Godwin Sequiera dished out a match-high 41 assists to go along with five digs. Sophomore
Kellvin Ortiz finished with seven kills and six total blocks including a match-high four solo blocks.
With John Jay leading 11-7 in the opening set, CCNY scored back-to-back points to cut the deficit to two. The Bloodhounds rallied to record seven of the next eight points and would take the first set, 25-18. John Jay opened the second set on a 5-1 run. The Beavers responded on an 11-3 run to go up 12-8. With the guests leading 16-10, John Jay tallied three straight to trail by three. CCNY ended the period on a 6-2 run to even the score at one apiece.
The Bloodhounds picked up six of the first nine points in the third. The Beavers followed with four straight to take the lead 7-6. John Jay went on a 6-2 run to increase the advantage to 15-11. The hosts ended the set with six straight points to hold a 2-1 advantage. The fourth set went back-and-forth as the score was knotted at five. The Bloodhounds followed with three straight before CCNY tied it with three of their own. Trailing 10-8, the Beavers took the lead after going on an 8-2 run. John Jay ended the set and match on a 7-3 run.

The #3 Bloodhounds will host #6 City College in the CUNYAC Quarterfinals on Tuesday, April 10, at 7:00 pm at the Doghouse.
