Men's Soccer Falls to Farmingdale State in Double Overtime; S. Towler Records Seven Saves

The men's soccer dropped a non-conference match to Farmingdale State College, 1-0 (2 OT), on Saturday afternoon in Farmingdale, NY. The Bloodhounds fall to 1-4 overall. The Rams improve to 3-2. 

The first ninety minutes consisted of back-and-forth play as John Jay outshot the hosts in both the first (7-6) and second halves (9-8). Sophomore Steven Towler recorded six saves in regulation. 

Farmingdale scored the game-winning goal with 51 seconds remaining in the second overtime period.

Sophomore Mark Shnadshteyn led the squad with a match-high eight shots and match-high five shots on goal. Sophomore Albert Karapetyan and freshman Peter Ceesay registered three shots each. S. Towler finished the contest with seven saves. 

The Bloodhounds will look for revenge when they open up CUNYAC play on Wednesday, September 19, against the 2017 Champion Lehman Lightning at 4:00 pm at Randall's Island Field 83.
