The women's tennis team completed the regular season schedule after cruising to a 7-2 win over SJC Brooklyn on Saturday afternoon at the USTA National Tennis Center. The Bloodhounds finish the season with an overall record of 7-3. The Bears drop to 3-9 overall.
At first doubles, the duo of sophomore
Mariana Rodriguez and junior
Gabrielle Schuck came out on top 8-1. In the third spot, senior
Angelica Lozano and freshman
Nikhar Rathi were victorious 8-3. John Jay led 2-1 heading into singles play.
In singles, Rodriguez (No. 1), sophomore
Briana Schmidt (No. 3), and Lozano all registered 8-0 wins. Freshman
Kayla Hanky topped her opponent in the fourth spot 8-2. Rathi also collected a victory at number six by a score of 8-4.
