The women's volleyball swept York College, 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-14), on Tuesday evening at the Doghouse to secure the fifth seed in the upcoming CUNYAC postseason tournament. The Bloodhounds improve to 6-16 on the season and finish 3-4 in CUNYAC. The Cardinals fall to 5-15 overall and 1-6 in the conference.
Senior
Mirialis Almanzar led the offense with a match-high 15 kills and John Jay's lone solo block. Sophomore
Niovis Monsanto tallied 11 kills, a season-high and game-high five service aces, and five digs. Senior
Kimberly Rodriguez dished out a match-high 35 assists to go along with five digs and four aces
Sophomore
Sophia Wheelan registered six kills and a pair of digs. Freshman
Jamarie Silverio added a team-high nine digs. Junior
Freysha Rivera and freshman
Stephany Chhay had five digs apiece.
John Jay totaled 38 kills, 38 assists, 38 digs, and 15 service aces.
