The men's soccer team fell to York College, 2-1, on a overcast Wednesday afternoon at Randall's Island. The Bloodhounds drop to 4-7 on the season and 2-2 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Cardinals improve to 2-10 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
John Jay got on the scoreboard in the 24th minute. Sophomore
Andrew DeCanio received a pass from freshman
Joseph Remache and buried it off the crossbar and into the back of the net for the 1-0 lead. Approximately 40 seconds later, York evened the score at one apiece.
John Jay outshot the Cardinals 9-4 in the period. Junior
Steven Towler made one save.
In the 62nd minute, the Cardinals took their first lead of the contest. The strike would end up being the game-winner as John Jay could not find a way to send it to overtime.
Both teams registered nine saves in the last forty-five minutes.
