In front of a packed Doghouse, the men's basketball team cruised by SJC Long Island, 74-63, on Homecoming on Tuesday night. The Bloodhounds are now on a four-game win streak and improve to 4-1. The Golden Eagles fall to 2-2.

Luciano Cruz-Fernandez had a career-night finishing with a career-high 22 points. The Pembroke Pines, FL native went an impressive 8-for-12 from the floor and 4-for-6 from behind the arc.

Doug Levy had a strong game recording 21 points, a season-high and game-high 15 rebounds, and a season-high and game-high seven assists. Junior
Romello Ford picked up 14 points, three assists, and a pair of steals.
The first four minutes went back-and-forth as the score was tied 8-8. John Jay then went on a 15-0 with 5:13 left in the first half. The Bloodhounds went into halftime holding a 35-20 advantage.
In the second period, the Golden Eagles cut the deficit to 39-27 with 16:40 remaining. However two minutes later, John Jay increased the lead back up to 16. With just under 10 minutes left to go, the Bloodhounds went up 53-33 and would go on for an 11-point victory.
John Jay finished 27-for-54 (50.0%) from the field, 8-for-22 (36.4%) from behind the arc, and 12-for-16 (75.0%) from the free-throw line.
The Bloodhounds enter conference play on Tuesday, December 3, when they travel to Lehman College for a 7:00 pm tip-off.
