The baseball team lost a doubleheader to Maritime College, 6-2 and 3-0, on Sunday afternoon in Throggs Neck, NY. The Bloodhounds drop to 6-13 overall. The Privateers improve to 9-7.
In game one, John Jay held a 2-1 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth. The hosts scored five runs in the inning to take the opening game.

Jared Hershfield got the start and pitched 5.1 innings allowing four hits, four runs (three earned), two walks, and struck out six. Senior
Steven Catuogno finished a perfect 3-for-3 with a double and stolen base. Senior

Joe Desilvio tallied two hits each.
In game two, Desilvio led the offense going 2-for-3. Sophomore
Philip Bellomo picked up the other hit for John Jay. Freshman Stephen Strategkos pitched the first three innings. Sophomore
Nick Jack threw three innings of scoreless relief allowing one hit, one walk, and struck out three.
The Bloodhounds travel to USMMA on Wednesday, March 27, for a non-conference game at 4:00 pm.
