The softball team lost to the College of Staten Island, 7-4, on Wednesday afternoon in Staten Island, NY. The Bloodhounds drop to 11-15 on the season and 5-3 in CUNYAC. The Dolphins improve to 12-14 and 8-2 in the conference.
CSI opened the scoring in the second with a run and added four in the fourth. In the bottom of the sixth, freshman
Brittany Williamson led off with a single. She later scored on an RBI single by freshman
Nicole Lopez.
Trailing 7-1 in the seventh, sophomore
AnneMarie Rivera picked up a two-run double.
Junior
Jessica Barbaria and senior
Inelza Salcedo recorded two hits each. Rivera finished 1-for-3 with two RBI's and a run scored. Sophomore
Tommi Mandell doubled and reached on a walk. Williamson came in to pitch the final three innings and did not allow an earned run.
The Bloodhounds travel to York College on Friday, April 26, for a conference doubleheader at 1:00 pm.
