The softball team picked up two conference victories on Monday afternoon against York College, 10-0 and 12-0, at Padavan-Preller Field in Bellerose, NY. With the wins, the Bloodhounds improve to 13-17 and 7-3 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Cardinals improve to 1-21 and 1-11 in the conference.
In game one, senior
Inelza Salcedo went 1-for-1 with a triple and game-high three RBI's. Juniors
Mariela Guzman and
Marissa Artz registered a hit and two runs batted in each. Freshman
Nicole Lopez finished 2-for-2 with two RBI's, a run, and stolen base.
Freshman
Julianne Graepel notched the win after firing five innings and allowing three hits while striking out five.
In the second game, sophomore
Tommi Mandell went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and a stolen base. Salcedo and freshman
Briana Schmidt each picked up two hits and a stolen base. Senior
Devika Prashad went 2-for-3 with two RBI's and two runs scored.
Freshman
Brittany Williamson tallied the win after giving up one hit over five innings with a career-high eight strikeouts.
The Bloodhounds host Lehman College on Tuesday, April 20, for a conference doubleheader at 6:00 pm at Fordham University. Before the game, the Athletics Department will honor seniors
