The baseball team fell to City College, 4-3, in the series finale on Saturday afternoon at Baseball Heaven in Yaphank, NY. The Bloodhounds drop to 9-18 and 2-1 in CUNYAC. The Beavers improve to 7-14 and 3-3 in the conference.
City College led 4-0 after four full innings. In the bottom of the fifth, John Jay scored three runs in the inning to cut the deficit to one. The Bloodhounds had scoring chances in the final two innings but could not convert.
Freshman
Stephen Strategakos got the start and threw three innings. Freshman
Paul Slawson pitched the final six innings in relief and allowed no hits, one run, one walk, and struck out six.
Seniors
Zach Hyde and
Steven Catuogno recorded two hits and a run each. Junior
Sean Napier finished 2-for-3 with a walk and RBI. Freshman
Jake Walton went 2-for-4 with a double.
