The John Jay Department of Athletics, Recreation, and Intramurals celebrated its 46th Annual Awards Banquet on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at the Doghouse. The night commemorated the achievements of the student-athletes during the 2018-2019 season. The department gave out over 65 awards, including Most Valuable Player and Most Improved Player for each team. The slogan of the night was 'Bloodhounds Digging Deep'.

The doors opened at 5:00 p.m. with an hour long cocktail hour. The program kicked off a little after 6:00 p.m. as Director of Athletics, Recreation, and Intramurals, Carol Kashow, addressed the crowd and recapped all of the accomplishments for the year.

The "voice" of the Bloodhounds, Jon Perez, was given the honor to be the Master of Ceremonies for the evening.

President Karol Mason then addressed the student-athletes noting how impressed she was with their accomplishments on and off the field.

The Department honored 100 scholar-athletes, 17 four-year student-athletes, over 30 conference all-stars, and many various award winners. Before dinner, the Athletics Department recognized the men's cross country team for their 3.399 team GPA, which was the highest in the Fall 2018 semester.

Zak Ivkovic, Commissioner of the CUNY Athletic Conference, addressed the crowd after dinner to discuss all of the accomplishments the conference has made and will continue to make.

Presenting the John Jay College Rookies of the Year awards was Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs Lynette Cook-Francis. Katie Healy (Women's Soccer & Women's Basketball) and Alejandro Gallardo (Men's Volleyball) were selected with this honor.  Dr. Gerard Bryant, Faculty Athletics Representative, announced the winner of the most prestigious award. Doug Levy (Men's Basketball) and Jessica Barbaria (Softball) were named the John Jay College Athletes of the Year.

The final award of the night was Best Dressed. The winner was based on the number of "likes" received on social media. It was announced that Michael DeMarco (men's soccer) and Kelly Fernandez (cheerleading) were the winners of the award. The Department ended the night by honoring the seniors with the annual 'Senior Salute' video.
