The women's soccer team lost to Sage College, 3-0, on Sunday evening in Albany, NY. The Bloodhounds drop to 0-2 on the season. The Gators improve to 1-1 on the year.
The first 33 minutes were scoreless as sophomore
Brittany Shaneberger kept the Sage offense from the back of the net. The hosts opened the scoring in the 34th minute to head into halftime leading 1-0.
John Jay controlled much of they play as they outshot the Raptors 9-5. Shaneberger made three saves in the period.
Twenty-seven seconds into the second half, the Raptors scored on a penalty kick to go up by two. Two minutes later, they added another goal and would go on to collect their first victory of the season.
John Jay outshot Sage by a margin of 19-12. Shaneberger finished with six saves. Junior
Erika Estro came in for the final 24 minutes and saved the only shot she faced. Senior
Medina Mulic and sophomore
Katie Healy each finished with a team-high four shots. Healy also added a match-high four shots on goal and sophomore
Alison Santos registered three shots on goal.
The Bloodhounds visit Manhattanville College on Saturday, September 7, for a non-conference tilt at 4:00 pm.
