The women's soccer team rolled past St. Joseph's College Brooklyn, 6-2, on Wednesday night at Aviator Field in Brooklyn. The Bloodhounds have now won two-in-a-row and improve to 2-2. The Bears drop to 3-1 on the year.
John Jay got off to a hot start when sophomore
Lily Collins opened the scoring in the second minute with a blast from outside the box. Twelve minutes later, junior
Kimberly Robledo tallied her first goal of the season.
In the 19th minute, freshman
Jillian Golden netted the Bloodhounds' third goal of the game. Five minutes later, freshman
Alexandra Dadario scored her first collegiate goal to increase the lead to 4-0.
The Bears responded with two quick goals to cut the deficit to two. John Jay went into half leading 4-2. Junior
Erika Estro made one save in the period.
In the 38th minute, Golden picked up her second of the contest and third goal of the season. Sophomore
Anneliese Tucci scored the Bloodhounds' final goal to give John Jay a 6-2 non-conference victory.
Robledo, Collins, and Tucci finished with a goal and an assist each. Sophomore
Katie Healy registered a pair of assists. Sophomore
Brittany Shaneberger added two saves.
The Bloodhounds travel to Rutgers-Camden on Saturday, September 14, for a non-conference match at 5:00 pm.
