The women's basketball team fell to Baruch College, 69-62, on Monday evening at the ARC Arena. The Bloodhounds drop to 5-7 on the season and 2-1 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Bearcats improve to 8-2 overall and 2-0 in the conference.

All'aha Albright finished with a game-high 20 points and seven rebounds. Sophomore
Katie Healy registered her second straight double-double, and fifth of the season, with 16 points, a team-high 13 rebounds, and a game-high six steals.
Sophomore
Lily Rakitzis recorded 11 points, a career-high and game-high eight assists, and four boards. Freshman
Jada Rencher came off the bench to grab seven rebounds and had six points.
John Jay opened the game on an 8-0 run but Baruch followed with nine straight to take their first lead. With the score tied at 13 apiece, Rencher made back-to-back baskets to put the Bloodhounds ahead by four. A layup by Rakitzis at the end of the quarter gave John Jay a 21-15 lead. The hosts started the second on a 7-0 run to take a one-point advantage. With 2:45 left in the half, Healy ended the quarter with four straight points as John Jay went into halftime up 38-34.
The Bloodhounds opened the third quarter with eight straight points as Albright scored seven straight. With 6:43 remaining in the period, John Jay led 46-34. Baruch ended the quarter on a 7-1 run to head into the final period trailing 52-47.
The Bearcats began the fourth on an 8-0 run to retake the lead 55-52. A free-throw by Albright evened the score at 57-57 with 4:05 left to go. Baruch followed on an 8-2 run to lead by six with 23 seconds on the clock. Albright trimmed the deficit to 65-62 after converting on a three-point play but the Bearcats closed out the game with the final four points.
John Jay went 25-for-65 (38.5%) from the field, 4-for-20 (20.0%) from behind the arc, and 8-for-14 (57.1%) from the free-throw line.
The Bloodhounds travel to Medgar Evers College on Friday, January 10, for a conference game at 6:00 pm.
