The women's basketball team cruised to a 79-50 decisive victory over Baruch College on Saturday afternoon at the Doghouse. The Bloodhounds get back to .500 on the season at 10-10 and improve to 7-2 in CUNYAC play. John Jay is having its best conference start to a season since 2012-13. The Bearcats drop to 12-6 overall and 6-3 in the conference.

All'aha Albright led all scorers with her third double-double of the season with a game-high 23 points and 11 rebounds. Double-double machine
Katie Healy notched another one, her 10th of the year, with 18 points, a game-high 15 rebounds, five assists, and three steals.

Nyasha Howard once again had an all-around solid performance with 17 points, nine boards, a game-high eight assists, and a game-high five steals. Sophomore
Lily Rakitzis finished with 15 points, three assists, and a pair of steals. Sophomore
Jada Rencher added six points and five boards.
With the score even at 4 apiece, John Jay ended the first quarter on a 16-2 run to lead 20-6 after 10 minutes. With 6:17 left in the half, the Bearcats cut the deficit to 26-14. The Bloodhounds went into the half holding a 41-21 advantage.
Albright led the offense with 12 points and eight rebounds. Rakitzis and Howard had 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Healy scored the first four points for John Jay in the third period. Halfway through the quarter, John Jay was up 54-29. The Bloodhounds went into the fourth with a 60-36 lead.
The visitors opened the fourth on a 10-0 run to cut the deficit to 14. However, Healy responded with a layup and Albright sank a three-pointer to put John Jay ahead 65-48. That three would ignite a 17-0 run as the Bloodhounds got revenge over the Bearcats after a loss in early January.
John Jay finished 28-for-65 (43.1%) from the field, 5-for-18 (27.8%) from behind the arc, and 18-for-26 (69.2%) from the free-throw line.
