The women's basketball team cruised to a 112-41 win over City College (CCNY) on Tuesday evening at the Doghouse. The Bloodhounds climb over .500 at 11-10 on the year and 8-2 in the CUNY Athletic Conference. The Beavers drop to 2-18 overall and 2-8 in the conference.
Senior
Nyasha Howard had a career-night for John Jay. The guard notched her second triple-double of the season with 10 points, 10 rebounds, a career-high and game-high 14 assists, and a game-high five steals. She is now second in all of NCAA DIII in triple-doubles. If that was not enough, the New York, NY native also picked up her 1,000th career point in the performance after draining a three-pointer in the first quarter.
Sophomore
Jada Rencher also finished with her best game of her Bloodhound career when she poured in a career-high and game-high 34 points. She also tallied a game-high 13 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. Sophomore
Katie Healy recorded her third straight double-double and team-leading 11th of the year with 13 points, 11 boards, four assists, and four steals.
Senior
All'aha Albright added 26 points and six rebounds. Junior
Samantha Martir came off the bench to pick up a career-high 13 points. Junior
Jessica Gorman contributed seven points and 11 boards.
John Jay finished 46-for-93 (49.5%) from the floor, 8-for-30 (26.7%) from behind the arc, and 12-for-22 (54.5%) from the free-throw line.
The Bloodhounds travel to York College on Friday, February 7, for a conference game at 5:30 pm.
