The baseball team dropped a non-conference doubleheader to Hilbert College, 6-5 (8 innings) and 9-4, on Monday evening in Myrtle Beach, SC. The Bloodhounds fall to 1-5 on the season.
Leading 5-3 heading into the last inning, Hilbert scored a pair of runs and plated one in extra innings to earn a come-from-behind victory in game one. Junior
John Vento finished 2-for-4 with a double and run scored. Senior
Danny Wynne went 1-for-3 with a team-high two runs scored an an RBI. Freshman
Raul Capellan had one hit and an RBI. Junior
Nick Jack got the start and threw 5.2 innings while allowing three runs.
In game two, junior
Philip Bellomo led the offense with a double and team-high three RBI's. Vento recorded one hit, one run, and a stolen base. Senior
Jared Hershfield threw a complete game, striking out a season-high eight batters.
The Bloodhounds take on Eastern University on Wednesday, March 3, with a doubleheader starting at 10:00 am.
