The #2 men's basketball team was eliminated from the ECAC Postseason Tournament after falling to #3 New Jersey City University, 88-75, on Wednesday night at the Doghouse. The Bloodhounds conclude the season with an overall record of 20-7, their best since the 2003-04 season. The Gothic Knights improve to 14-13 overall.

In his final collegiate game, senior Jayson Brower led the offense with a game-high 23 points and six rebounds. Also in his final game as a Bloodhound, senior Doug Levy finished with nine points, six assists, and four boards. Junior Romello Ford tallied 10 points, four assists, and a team-high two steals.

Junior Kyle LaGuardia recorded 12 points, six assists, and five rebounds. Freshman Garrison Watkins came off the bench to pour in 11 points to go along with six boards. Sophomore Angel Rivera added seven points.

The first eight minutes went back-and-forth as the score was all even at 17 apiece. Up by one, NJCU scored four straight but Watkins answered with a three-pointer. Trailing by seven with 5:42 left in the opening half, Levy sank a three and Brower followed with a jumper to cut the deficit to 31-29. The visitors went into the half with a 39-36 advantage.

Four-and-a-half minutes into the second period, the Gothic Knights increased their lead to seven. Leading by five, NJCU went on a 9-2 run to go ahead 63-51. The Bloodhounds were able to cut it to seven but NJCU would hold on for the victory.

John Jay finished 28-for-63 (44.4%) from the field, 10-for-26 (38.5%) from behind the arc, and 9-for-13 (69.2%) from the free-throw line.

This game turned out to be the final one of Jayson Brower, Luciano Cruz-Fernandez, Doug Levy, Jose Rodriguez, and Oneil Smith's collegiate career. The Athletics Department wishes them the best of luck in the future!
