CAMDEN, NJ -- The women's basketball team coasted to a 63-49 victory over the Rutgers-Camden Scarlet Raptors on Monday evening in Camden, NJ. The Bloodhounds move above .500 to 4-3 on the season, while the Scarlet Raptors fall to 0-5 on the year.
In an absolutely dominant first quarter, the John Jay defense allowed just two Scarlet Raptor points over a 10-minute stretch and the Bloodhounds got out to a commanding 18-2 lead. Rutgers-Camden came alive in the second quarter and outscored John Jay by two points, but the Bloodhounds quelled the comeback attempt by returning the favor and outscoring the Scarlet Raptors, 16-10, in the third quarter to take a 20-point lead. That would be all the Bloodhounds needed to earn the victory.
