In the 24th edition of the 2020-21 senior spotlight segment,
Jon Perez sat down with senior
Kelly Fernandez to discuss her career with the cheerleading team.
Fernandez was a two-year member of the program. She was part of the team that competed at the 2019 CUNYAC championship. At the championship, Fernandez also participated in the stunt competition. At the 2019 Annual Awards Banquet, the Brooklyn native was named the team's most improved player in addition to being selected as one of the best dressed recipients.
The forensic psychology major and counseling minor has recorded a 3.4 cumulative GPA. After graduation, the scholar-athlete and dean's list student wants to work in counseling in either a prison, jail, or rehabilitation center.
