Due the the COVID-19 pandemic for the second straight year, the John Jay Department of Athletics, Recreation, and Intramurals celebrated its virtual Recognition Ceremony on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. The evening commemorated the academic achievements of the student-athletes during the 2019-2020 season as well as honored all the four-year and graduating student-athletes. The slogan of the night was 'Bloodhounds United to Meet the Challenge'.
For the fifth straight year, the "voice" of the Bloodhounds,
Jon Perez, was given the honor to be the Master of Ceremonies for the evening.
The program began with opening remarks by both President Karol Mason and Vice President of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management Dr. Brian Kerr.
The Department honored 134 scholar-athletes, 48 seniors, and 21 four-year student-athletes. The Athletics Department recognized the women's cross country for their 3.703 team GPA, the highest in the fall 2020 semester.
