NEW YORK, NY -- Junior
Katie Healy made history in women's basketball's victory over CCNY on Monday afternoon, becoming just the seventh Bloodhound to score 1,000 career points in program history. On the historic day, John Jay took down the Beavers, 77-41, and celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. day with a commanding victory. The Bloodhounds improve to 8-6 (3-1 CUNYAC) on the year, while CCNY falls to 0-6, (0-2 CUNYAC) on the season.
Healy added to her special day by pouring in a game-high 24 points and grabbing six rebounds. Junior
Bobbi Green recorded a 20-point double-double totaling 21 points and 10 rebounds to go with three steals. Freshman
Jordyn Ruiz had a career-high five thefts, while freshman
Ayanna Edwards had a career-high four steals of her own, and they both combined for 11 points and seven assists. Sophomore
Brianna Platia chipped in seven points.
Next up, the Bloodhounds embark on to game two of a five-game road trip, and will travel to take on Baruch College on Saturday, January 22, at noon.
