Men's Soccer Rookie Sensation Brayan Alvarez Nets Fourth Goal of the Season in First CUNYAC Loss to Lehman

BRONX, NY - The John Jay men's soccer team suffered its first CUNYAC loss of the season on Wednesday evening, dropping a road contest to the Lehman College Lighting, 6-1. The Bloodhounds drop to 4-9 (3-1 CUNYAC) on the season, while the Lightning improve to 7-3-2 (5-0 CUNYAC) on the year.

Two-time CUNYAC Rookie of the Week Brayan Alvarez got John Jay on the board first with an unassisted goal in the 23rd minute. This would mark Alvarez' fourth goal of the season, and third consecutive game with a goal. However, from that point on it was all Lehman, as the Lightning scored six unanswered goals to close out the game. The Bloodhounds next best chance was in the 49th minute, when freshman Kevin Cantos fired a shot on target, but was saved nicely by the Lightning goalkeeper.

John Jay's final road match of the season will be on Saturday, October 15 when the Bloodhounds travel to take on Brooklyn College. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m.
